About Make it Yours Summer Camp

 

How much does it cost?
Make it Yours Summer Camp is $60. This includes all your meals and accommodation.

Please sign up by 23 January to secure your place. (It's possible to sign up to attend day sessions only. Please contact camp@op.ac.nz to ask about this.)

Do I need to bring my own food?

No. We'll provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. Let us know on the sign-up form if you have any dietary needs.

 

What is the accommodation like?

Te Pā Tauira is our on-campus student accommodation. It is modern and secure, and has common rooms, a pool table and WiFi. Student Ambassadors will also be on hand to answer your questions about what it's like to study at Otago Polytechnic.

 

Not from Dunedin? Getting here

You need to organise and pay for your transport to and from Dunedin – we will pick you up and drop you off at the airport or bus terminal if required. Let us know on the application form if you need us to do that and we will be in touch.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Bring your normal clothes and a raincoat (in case you have to go outside).
  • Bring closed-toe shoes – some of our workshops may have hazards. We'll provide safety gear if you need it. 
  • Bring sunblock, a water bottle and money for snacks.
  • Bring pyjamas and toiletries – we'll provide sheets and towels.

If you want to take part in the Sport, Exercise and Health workshop please bring running shoes, clothes you can exercise in, and a laptop, tablet or smartphone.

 


Information for parents and carers

Make it Yours – Summer Camp is a great, low-cost opportunity for young people to get a taste of the study options and the careers they could have if they choose to study at Otago Polytechnic.

The sessions will be run and supervised by Otago Polytechnic staff, and Te Pā Tauira staff will be on site to supervise at the student accommodation.

We will provide all the meals during Camp, and we can cater for special dietary needs (just make sure you indicate these on the sign-up form).
