Join us for the next SiMBA research talk:

TUESDAY 23 OCTOBER, 12 - 1.00PM
D317, D BLOCK, OTAGO POLYTECHNIC, HARBOUR TERRACE, DUNEDIN

Our speaker is Dr Steve Atkins, on the topic Modern HR and Post-Postmodern Metrics for Seeking Blends of Talents on Project Teams.

This SiMBA research talk will summarize audience engagements and conference corridor debates (across 2018 conferences in Bonn, Sheffield, Montreal, Toronto and Rome) re moving vocational talent-matching advice from modern to post-postmodern technologies.  Two contexts of application will illustrate these ideas: the young New Zealand spacecraft engineering/space-launch sector and the global “war-on-unsafe-water” arena (…the latter, e.g, co-funded by Rotary International, UNICEF, USAid, Cirque de Soleil’s OneDrop Foundation, etc.). This talk will be a bit of a travelogue as well, since some patches of holiday-leave had to be used to patch five conferences together into one airfare (e.g., Northern Ireland, Dublin, St. Petersburg, Copenhagen, Oslo, and Estonia).

Listening, in advance, to this very recent Kim Hill/National RadioNZ interview (of Assoc.Prof. Merv Emre), will likely lead you to come to this SiMBA applied-research café with some tough questions for Steve, and with more appreciation for what we mean by “Post-Postmodernists” versus “pre-Rafaelites.”
