treo of apples

Chrissie Mahoney – trio of apple trees and plaque on stone

Chrissie Mahoney worked at Otago Polytechnic from 1999 – 2008. She was initially employed as a lecturer in the School of Community Studies and over the next few years made her way up to Head of Department. In 2007, Chrissie was appointed General Manager Student Services and was a member of the Leadership Team.

Chrissie was very keen on sustainability and growing fresh food – and was one of the people instrumenting OP’s sustainable gardens. The three apple trees planted in her memory represent her commitment and love of her work life, family, and her life-long passion for music. The memorial stone for the plaque comes from the Leith Valley where she lived for several years.
