Love the outdoors and practical work?

This Dunedin-based training scheme for 16-25 year olds and is run in partnership with the Malcam Charitable Trust.

It is a stepping stone into education and employment in the primary sector industry (e.g. farming, veterinary nursing, landscaping, tree surgery, conservation, environmental science, food science and more).

This programme will allow you to:

  • experience and gain a range of practical skills in things such as animal care and behaviour, and ecological restoration work
  • choose a work placement on a dairy farm, in a nursery, with a sheep or beef farmer, in landscaping, garden maintenance, horticulture or conservation work
  • improve your reading, writing and numeracy skills, build your confidence and learn how to put together a great CV!

As this programme is under redevelopment, applications will open in mid-January. To register your interest before then, please email ebsSOS@op.ac.nz
