Brittany Arthur Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship, which is funded by Jose and Donald Arthur, is in memory of their daughter Brittany who died suddenly of meningococcal disease in August 2016 just before she started her transition to practice placement. There are four scholarships available, at a total of $2,500 each.

The Arthur family have requested that the scholarships be used by graduating students to assist their transition to registered nurse practice on completion of the Bachelor of Nursing. There are no conditions on how the scholarship is spent.

The scholarships are awarded to graduating nurses who have demonstrated that they are consistently empathetic and compassionate to others and have the right aptitude and attitude to be caring nurses.

The process for identifying students who have demonstrated these skills and strengths will be undertaken by the Head of the School of Nursing in consultation with senior year three colleagues. This process will include reviewing students’ Transition to Registered Nurse Practice clinical placement documentation and identifying evidence that these skills and strengths stood out.

Verification and support will also come from preceptor feedback.

The School of Nursing is extremely grateful to Jose and Donald Arthur for making this generous donation to our future graduates.
