Starting life as a new student can be exciting as well as challenging. Our Student support team is here to help you through any issues that might arise and make sure your time here is rewarding and fun!

For students who are studying off-campus, our support staff are available via phone and email. 

Student Success team 

Kitty Keogh and Sheena Roy are Student Advisors based on the Dunedin Campus and are available to talk in person, via phone or email anytime. They can help you with any personal problems and study issues as you settle into life at Otago Polytechnic, and offer continued assistance throughout the academic year.

Pasifika support

Anna Seiuli provides support to Pacific Island students. Those who identify as being of Pacific Islands descent will be contacted by Anna, and regular fono are held during the year. Anna is based in Dunedin, and can provide support and advice via phone or email to students on other Campuses.

Patricia Quensell is our Career Practitioner who can help with career and study planning. Patricia is based on the Dunedin Campus and is available via phone or email to provide career and study guidance to off-campus students.

Hien Vu and Sheena Roy are the International Student Advisors and are dedicated to assisting international students settle into Dunedin and work to ensure that you get personalised support while you are studying.

Online counselling 

A counsellor is available Monday evenings from 6pm-9pm for a Skype or phone appointment.

You will be asked to provide your Skype address and phone number. If a phone call is required, the counsellor will ring you at your appointment time. 


Find out about places of worship or talk to someone who can understand your spiritual needs. Mike Wright and Paul Armstrong are experienced Chaplains who can help you with a range of issues. Both Chaplains are based in Dunedin, but are available via phone or email for students that are based on other Campuses.
