The Minister of Education Chris Hipkins visited Otago Polytechnic's Dunedin Campus today, Friday 16 November.

The Minister was welcomed on to the Campus at 12.10pm by members of ELT, Directors, staff and a small contingent of students.

Hosted by Jo Brady, Deputy Chief Executive: People, Performance and Development, the Minister also chatted to Nursing and Leadership for Change student Ashleigh Smith, Nursing student Devon Kilkelly and Bachelor of Culinary Arts and Leadership for Change student Finn Boyle.

He then visited Otago Polytechnic’s new augmented reality Nursing suite and EPICentre, where Engineering students are building a plane.

“The Minister's visit gave us an opportunity to showcase our learners and innovative programmes as well as share our recent success in achieving the Baldridge-affiliated Performance Excellence Study Award,” Jo said.

Having previously attended a NZEI meeting, the Minister departed Otago Polytechnic’s Dunedin Campus at 1.20pm to return to Wellington.
