Events schedule:

How to sharpen your saw
Our experienced arborists will teach you how to sharpen your chainsaw and answer questions
about the arboriculture industry and tree care services for your home or community projects.

9.30am

Monkeying around
Bring the kids along to try tree climbing and other fun activities while you browse our plant
selection and nibble from the garden.

10.00am

Garden to plate
Otago Polytechnic’s Food Design lecturers will demonstrate how to create tasty dishes using 
seasonal produce from your own garden and from our Living Campus gardens.

10.30am

Bonsai demonstration
Learn how to create a bonsai to feature in your garden. Step by step instructions will be
provided by our accomplished local bonsai enthusiast.

11.00am

Build a stacking compost bin
Our landscape tutor will demonstrate how to build a stacking compost bin and explain
opportunities for you as a landscape student or a client.

11.30am

It’s a buzz beekeeping
Beekeeping is easy when you have a rent-a-hive. Murray and Heidi will talk about the
benefits of keeping bees in Dunedin.

12.00pm

Composting for everyone
Would you like to turn your garden clippings and dinner scraps into compost but don’t know the
right system to use? Save heaps on DCC rubbish bags and turn your organics into compost gold!
