Keen to support Dunedin’s Wildlife Hospital?

The Wildlife Hospital Students’ Association (WHSA) has teamed up with Natural History New Zealand and the Regent Theatre to host the New Zealand premiere screening of NHNZ's new series, Orangutan Jungle School, on Tuesday 25 September at 7pm.

The event is a fundraiser for both the Wildlife Hospital and the Borneo Orangutan Survival Fund.

“We are very passionate about the work that the Wildlife Hospital does, and see it as vitally important to ensure the ongoing sustainability of New Zealand's diverse native wildlife,” says Fiona Thorp, of the WHSA.

“From a student's perspective, there is a lot of excitement and enthusiasm around the Wildlife Hospital and its work, and a sense of serious commitment to wildlife conservation.

Since opening in January and operating out of Otago Polytechnic’s School of Veterinary Nursing, the Wildlife Hospital has treated hundreds of injured birds, including rare takahe, various kiwi and numerous penguins.

“The Wildlife Hospital has been hugely successful this year,” Fiona says.

“As a study body, we are passionate about helping to sustain the hospital’s vital work.”
