OPAIC’s staff and students raised more than $570 for worthy organisations at their International Charity Day event yesterday.

The Event Planning class organised the fundraiser, where staff and students were invited to bring their finest baking and cooking to campus and sell it.

All of the money made from their sales will be donated to a number of charities. Those charities include Save the Children, Fertility NZ, NZ Red Cross, Ronald McDonald House, Forest &Bird, Kerala, Kiwi Trust for Palestinian Children Relief, and Tamariki Outreach.

Dishes from a wide range of countries including France, India, Bangladesh, China and Palestine featured at the event.

Staff and students raised an additional $1,501.50 for victims of the Kerala floods during collections on campus over the past two weeks.
